This vehicle added a function of the series E2 to the decrepit series 200. And the color was changed to like series E2. Hereafter, the series 200 will be changed to this type. This vehicle is running as YAMABIKO (the echo through the mountain), NASUNO (the highland name), TOKI (the ibis which lives in Sado island close to Nigata) and TANIGAWA (Mt.Tanigawa along Joetsu Shinkansen). These trains have run from Tokyo to Morioka as YAMABIKO for Tohoku Shinkansen, to Kooriyama as NASUNO for Tohoku Shinkansen, to Niigata as TOKI for Joetsu Shinkansen and to Echigoyuzawa as TANIGAWA for Joetsu Shinkansen.
