JR Kyushu has only a few diesel express train, so Series DC 40 for the local train was changed for express train. But, the color was only changed. It is 1st One-Man express train (there is no conductor), but a train attendant who is not a conductor gets on. HAYATO means the old area name in Kagoshima prefecture and KAZE means wind, so HAYATO NO KAZE means the wind in Hayato.
